We’ve finally got ourselves up to speed and now have a Facebook Fan Page and Twitter account.

Yes, we’re a bit slow :)

Happy Holidays! Bring on 2011!

Tuesday, December 21st, 2010

It’s been a while since I posted on here. Forgive me. I forgot the password and didn’t bother looking for it until now. HA HA.

And I’ve been spending the last few weeks shopping for 101 different gifts (ok maybe not 101 but it was a lot!) and have been buried in wrapping paper, ribbon, bakers twine etc last week. I spent so much time wrapping, a heating pad is now attached to my back whenever I sit down ;)

Just wanted to pop in to say “Hello!”. We’re still here and processing orders as always. We will be processing orders all through the holidays but it may be a bit slower given our local post office is on vacation for a few days too to celebrate.

Wishing you all a very happy holiday season!

We are so very grateful for family, friends and great customers like you! See you in 2011 – I have the password for this blog written down so now I have no excuse for not posting.

XO XO XO!

Two Days, Two Weddings

Wedding Cupcakes by Le Cupcake

It was a very tiring but very tasty weekend this past weekend.

My husband and I were invited to 2 weddings – one on Friday night, one on Saturday. This is the first time we’ve had weddings back to back and boy are we tired! And full.

Both couples are our university friends from way back when (LOL. I speak as though I am old but I guess I am now that it has been more than 5 years since university) and we were so honoured to be invited to share in their special day.

Celebrating with them this past weekend reminded me of my wedding 4 years ago. I got teary eyed watching the groom’s reaction as he saw his bride for the first time in her stunning white dress and was bawling by the time the speeches started.

I asked my husband if he was interested in renewing our vows and maybe planning a shindig for our family and friends next year when we celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. His answer “No. Out of budget. If you can do something that’s free, OK!” LOL. Well then…. I guess he doesn’t want to play dress up as much as I do :)

Good food, wonderful company and a whole lot of love. I am stuffed from all the cake I ate (I really have no restraint when it comes to desserts) and don’t even want to think about food today.

What about you? Has wedding season started yet? The weddings are done for me this year and I still have a few baby showers to attend by the time this Summer is over.

HELLO CAKE! :)

Oh dear. I did it again.

Monday, May 10th, 2010

I forgot to post on here. I’ve been so busy lately! With a birthday party to plan for a 2 year old, a baby shower and weddings to attend. And Mother’s Day that just passed.

I’ve been bad at blogging.

My youngest sister also moved to the West Coast to work for 4 months so I spent the last two weeks with her just hanging out as I don’t see her often (she’s still in school).

So I have a few questions to ask you blogging pros. How do you find time to blog? I want to do so many things – take pictures, write, craft, and cook. Yet it seems like there’s so much going on constantly that I rarely get around to it even though my head is filled with 101 different posts.

Here’s to hoping for a 30 hour day! LOL

Feeling Lucky?

Saturday, April 17th, 2010

My last post was about Polaroid film hunting. The reason I’ve been on a Polaroid kick for the past year and a bit is because of Rubyellen over at cakies.

She takes a Polaroid photo each week and posts it on her blog. I love them. Especially the ones with her daughters (it’s the mom in me speaking).

I have been taking weekly photos as well with my film – mainly of my daughter and can’t wait to get my hands on some more film.

Anyhow, if you’re feeling kinda lucky this week, we are giving away 3 $20 gift certificates to this store over at Rubyellen’s. I know the prize isn’t a Polaroid camera or film but at least you’ll get some nice packaging for your photos! :)

Good luck!

Polaroid Film Hunt

We had a relaxing weekend. How about you?

The sun was shining and it was tshirt weather! Gorgeous!

Over the weekend I also decided I’m going to work on improving my photography skills. Again. I did this before (long time ago before I got married) and was hoping to become some famous photographer. LOL. I bought books, scoured the forums and thought about enrolling in a digital photography course at a local college.

Never happened. I read the books but forgot to apply what I’d learned and never enrolled in the course because it was out of budget. This time around I am just looking for an improvement (ie. following the rule of thirds) and am going to reread my books from 5 years ago. Will not be an aspiring photographer – just trying to capture some memorable moments for my family scrapbooks.

I have 3 cameras currently:

1. Canon Rebel DSLR (no idea the actual model number – my husband and I bought this maybe 5 or 6 years ago). Never purchased any fancy lenses and only used the one that came in the starter kit. This is the reason why I think my pictures suck. HAHAHA

2. Canon point and shoot – good for moms on the go! Most of the time I use this camera because my daughter can’t hold a pose for too long. And it fits in her diaper bag!

3. Polaroid 600 Land Camera – I LOVE IT. I have never had a Polaroid camera in my life! I remember constantly begging my parents to get me one for my birthday as everyone else I knew had one (cousins, friends). Instead they bought me a Fuji 35mm camera which I wasn’t too crazy about as the waiting to have the film processed was too long for an impatient 7 year old like me. HA. So for my 30th birthday last year I decided to buy one!

I wore it on my shoulder and went to the park with it. People stared and I got a few chuckles from men and women who actually knew what it was! Some would even stop me and ask where I bought it.

Little did I know the film would be so hard to find in Canada.

I had to order off of a US website, send to friends and my sister who was working in California at the time and then wait for them to bring it home to me. Worth the wait? Definitely! Although now I am down to my last pack of film and I use the camera sparingly. HA.

So if anyone knows where I can get some film for my Polaroid in Canada, please let me know!

I’m hoping with this new goal of mine, you’ll be able to see some improvement in my photo skills in a few months.

And if you have any quick tips on how to improve my photo taking skills, please share :)

Blog promises

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

This blog has been neglected for the past few weeks and months, hasn’t it?

We’ve been open here for several months and haven’t been doing a great job at blogging. But things are going to change after this weekend. I promise!

I (Cheryl) have been inspired by several blog friends to find time to be more creative. To brush up on my photography skills, use my Polaroid camera more and just craft with my 2 year old toddler. I blog hop daily and am so inspired by how people have found time to create, play and just live in the moment. I’ve been doing a bad job of that as I’ve been working too much and playing too little.

Going to get a little more personal over here and hope you like what I have to share.

For those of you that don’t know, I run this store with my sisters so hopefully they’ll post once in a while too. One is in university so I don’t think she will have time to write as much and my middle sister has a full time job.

I’m a stay at home, work at home mother of 1 dog and 1 toddler. Life is crazy as my little girl is 1 going on 20 (she’s turning 2 in a coupla weeks but acts like a 20 year old some times) and I’m trying to figure out this whole work at home, stay at home, organized housewife life.

So this is my blog promise. To be more diligent at posting and sharing. Hope to see you around town (online town that is). And if you see me in person in the GTA then please say hello! Just don’t comment on my clothing. LOL.

Some days I know I look a little bit frumpy. I blame it on the lack of sleep. No one told me being a mom would be so challenging!

What about you? Do you have a blog? How’d you find me over here?

FAQ: Discounts on bulk orders

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

We get asked this question a lot so we decided to do a short post about discounts and bulk orders.

Yes, we do offer discounts on bulk orders. Bulk meaning $30+ which is pretty fantastic we think. The more you buy, the more you save.

We know what it’s like to plan an event and keep it within budget so we’ve come up with automatic discounting (no coupon codes necessary) system during checkout.

In case you haven’t read our FAQ page, here’s how the discounting works:

5% off purchases $30+
10% off purchases $75+
15% off purchases $100+
25% off purchases $150+

Discounts are applied automatically during checkout. No coupon codes to enter, no need to contact us. Shopping made easy!

Hope this answers all your wholesale, bulk orders, discounting questions. If you have more questions, talk to us – we’re a friendly bunch! :)

Happy New Year!

Friday, January 1st, 2010

We hope your holidays were relaxing and you found time to spend time with loved ones!

We can’t believe 2010 is already here (2009 just flew by — especially the month of December!) and we are just starting the snowy season in Toronto (there’s a few flurries out today).

We love winter! Skiing, making snow angels and hot chocolate! Hopefully there will be a few snow days this year too so we have an excuse to stay indoors and craft :)

We found some time to add some products over the holidays to our store and still have a lot more to upload in the next few weeks (mainly grosgrain ribbon and organza bags). Keep your eyes open for those!

Hope you’re having a great start to 2010! Talk to you soon!

Hello world!

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

Yahoo! The website is up and running. Sorry for the mess around here… we’ve been busy!

The holidays are just around the corner (along with the New Year — yikes 2010 already?) and we haven’t been good with taking our photos and uploading all of our goodies to the site.

We will be working really hard over the holidays to get everything up on this site so you can place your orders (and finally pay in CAD!)

We do have some items up in the store so feel free to place an order as we will ship things out within 1-2 business days after payment is processed. If you want to pay is USD, you can visit our Etsy storetoo.

Looking forward to getting to know you all and talk to you soon!

XOXO
Cheryl
